Buskers!

I'll have to do a second set of these... as I was coloring I thought of about thirty more I wanted to add (the saw lady, the guy with the accordion, and the guy with the erhu to name a few)

Happy Memorial Day!

Here are some photos of my great uncle Albert R. Eibel (bottom row, third from the right- in both). He was lost in the North Sea along with most of the others in this photo on Dec 27, 1944, when they had to ditch their plane.

+++++++

Here are some great sites I've been keeping tabs on:
Our Children's Gorilla
An Ambitious Project Collapsing
Seed Magazine (at some point I'll break down and get a subscription...)
Rec(ession)ipes
Three Potato Four
Savilintu

Awesome 1920's fabric from Ilana ^^^
I have to find a worthy project since it took nearly 90 years to find it's way to me!

An illo for this article here about a link between creativity and mental illness.

This is the coolest jewelry/antique store ever... (and it's right next to Saipua!)

Also- a big thanks to Design*Sponge for featuring my work on this week's Weekly Wrap Up!

Here's an illo I knocked out yesterday after reading SEED's article about how studying the growth of seashell patterns may lead us to a better understanding of the human brain and memory!

Happy Mom's Day!

This is the mug I made for Mom's day using Pebeo Porcelaine 150. I'm having a love affair with that stuff. I may go out today for more colors. I wish I could paint it on a little more delicately, but it's still great. Just be sure to allow yourself 24 hours of drying time before you bake it in your oven... (I didn't realize, so Mom is getting it a day or two late.)
(That's the fam in the yard- Dad using his reel mower, me in my tree, and Andy shooting stuff with gun shaped sticks--- he wasn't allowed to have toy guns so he had to improvise.)

I've never been much of a fan of post-Seinfeld Larry David but it seems Woody Allen has possibly changed all that for me. (knock on wood)

Knickknackerbockers (or Hobbeldehoys?)

I can't wait to make more of these guys! Need to restock the blocks first though.

Also here are a couple of awesome acquisitions via trades with Ilana and Evah ---
I've been meaning to post these photos for ages!
