Trade School

Ilana invited me to visit Trade School with her for a gastronomic history lesson led by her friend Sarah of fourpoundsflour.com. We had delicious desserts spanning from a dense yeast risen cake of the 1790's up to a light cream filled Charlotte Russe of the 1940's New York street corner! My favorite was a 1840's fruit cake with mace and citron.
It's an awesome space- be sure to sign up for a class before Grand Opening changes it's storefront!

sewing and knitting

Here's a new dress I just finished. It's a little chilly out for it yet, but I'm glad I finally used up this fabric. I also made this stash-buster scarf for Jashar. Many more yet to be made before my stash is fully busted!

dye, dye my darling PT 2

Sometime soon I'll get around to printing these on fabric. Here are some sketches of possible patterns from December.

I'm not sure what instigated it, but something sent me on a wool blanket ebay search today. I already have several perfectly wonderful wool blankets but I still can't resist looking. I was out bid on this beauty. (I pulled the photos off to torture myself.)
I'm hoping to invest in one of these amazing welsh wool blankets someday–––>
