I've been knitting a bit recently–

The latter's pattern can be found here. The former is based on a buttoned scarf I made for myself a few years back- only I decided to try it out in a basket weave stitch. I'm going to give the second another try in sport weight yarn with either a stockinette or moss stitch. (Worsted weight looks a little clumsy.)
Next up is quilting! I toyed around with it while I was home, but didn't think to take any photos.
Perhaps a Tomby/Emily collaboration could emerge from the sewing of blocks?

Gulnur Ozdaglar

These limpid jellyfish-like bowls are made out of PET bottles! I was sure these photos were drawings the first time I came across them. Something about them reminds me of Kiki Smith. Click here for more of Gulnur Ozdaglar's work.

The new years resolution- keep a proper sketchbook.
(I have a tendency to just use loads of loose paper.)

Hey Courbet!

Here's another for the Fresh Produce show at the Anno Domini Gallery.
It'll be opening this Friday, so if you're in the San Jose area you should stop by! There are some great artists involved (including my friendorfoe Kiersten), and everything is priced $250 and below so you're sure to pick up some awesome yuletide presents!

So I'm back from Thanksgiving in Ohio! Not only was there mashed potatoes, apple cider and pumpkin pie nearly every meal, but I got to visit the Timken steel mill where my aunt works! Nearly everyone on my Dad's side of the family has worked at Timken at one point or another, and although it had changed alot since when my Dad worked there, it was great to see. Think massive flames and smoke shooting up to the ceiling... well, it's hard to describe. Unfortunately, we couldn't take any photos inside, but here's the fam dressed in hardhats and the best video I could find.

Thanks again Aunt Mary!
