Here's an in-the-works hand painted wooden toy I've been finishing up for the Brooklyn Flea this weekend! I'll have more of these along with hand painted candlesticks! Definitely come and check it out if you're in the neighborhood!
Saturday was the perfect day for Dead Horse Bay! What an amazing spot! Ilana found an awesome article about the place- here! Unfortunately, there were no horse bones found– but I did take three grocery bags of bottles away. Here's about half of what I gleaned from the beach (the other half needs some serious cleaning... and lots of bleach) Oh, I also found a 20 bucks on the path there!
projects at different levels of completion filling my mantle, unmade pillows, pincushion 'toadspools' These goodies will all be on sale at the Brooklyn Flea in May!
One thing extremely amiss about NYC is the total lack of those great all-encompassing craft stores which are so ubiquitous in the midwest! But I've finally found a Michael's that's not all that far from me here in Bushwick– and it's attached to a Trader Joe's to boot. It was a bit of a trek (because I wanted to walk instead of take the bus) but well worth it– so cheery outside the other day! If you feel so inclined: Take the M to Metrpoplitian Ave/ Middlevillage and walk east to the Woodhaven Blvd intersection. MAP
Two of my buddies appear in the current issue of Time Out NY!
/////Morgan's store, which will have a stand at the Brooklyn Flea, is highlighted! (I will have hand painted wooden toys, embroidered pillows and prints at her stand in May!)
This album is so great for spring Sundays. The Kronos Quartet is at their absolute best when they're playing Cage, Moondog and Pärt... (Górecki & Tallis too, but they're not on this album.)
last week: +awesome Passover at Morgan's ++24 hour flu (passover leftovers were my rescue!) +++Easter ++++the big 2 - 7 (also- new neil record!) phew! new projects to be posted soon!!! (from what I hear, Bergman was sooo into Killswitch)

Some great little things from a recently acquired sewing tin. (I found a ton more crocheting after the photo. Each hidden inside a spool of cotton cord.)
WE SAW PAUL MCCARTNEY IN THE STREET TODAY- AND HE TALKED TO US!!!!!!! Hands down- best trip to the Met ever... although that Courbet show was really awesome. +++ just to tell you just how nice he is- he stopped and talked to us after he saw us recognize him! (We'd never accost a legend on the street!)
